Situation:
BLUF: The river ways towards Todt Airfield will be cleared. Amphibiously land on the airfield with the LCI. Capture scientist Peter Adolf Thiessen and destroy jet fighters around the airfield. Repel naval and air QRF then return the scientist to MOB Bell.
Todt Airfield is exposed to a amhibious attack from the river. A day has passed since the destruction of the Graf Zepplin aircraft carrier, hopefully that became the last time we encounter a Graf Zepplin.
The SHAEF have lent us an Landing Craft Infantry (LCI) outfitted to demine the waterways. The waters all around Todt Airfield are riddled with mines that only the LCI can remove. Thus, MOB Bell has assigned Charlie to drive the LCI down the water way. You, Bravo, will be securing the river to let the LCI reach the lake. Once the mines are removed, a safe passageway can be established between Todt Airfield and the mainland.
As long as Todt Airfield stands, so do their latest Wunderwaffe. Peter Adolf Thiessen leads the research on jet-powered Messerschmitt Me 262 fighters. They pose a threat to any Allied fighters, and the SHAEF demand their destruction. OBJ Tango contains the likely location of Thiessen. The rest of the airfield should be left in burning ruins.
Once the waters are demined, a counter attack is likely. Enemy boats may re-insert to the lake through our river. Air QRF will respond to the threat of our ship as soon as it lands on the shores. Using the turrets available on the island, these QRF must be repelled to protect Thiessen’s extraction from the AO.
After the capture of Todt Airfield, the Luftwaffe should be permanently crippled from future air engagements.
